Slicers
Slicers are filter controls you configure as the author and your viewers operate. A slicer filters all the map layers and charts bound to the same data (directly, or through field links).
Slicer types
- Single select and multi select lists.
- Value slider and range slider.
- Date and time range.
- Buttons — as a row, column, or grid.
- Toggle.
- Relative date — "last N days / months / years".
Options
Depending on the type, slicers can offer a search box, select all and clear, cascading value lists (one slicer's options narrow based on another's selection), and quick date ranges.
Display
Like charts, slicers can be shown on the map (as a full list, a dropdown, or a draggable card) and/or in the side pane. They have a full format card — title, background and transparency, button styling, and even per-value images.
Next steps
- Charts — pair slicers with summaries.
- Tooltips & cross-filtering — connect slicers across sources.
